Figurative Language Analysis of Michele Meleen "Like Stars in the Sky" Poem

Like Stars in the Sky

By: Michele Meleen

Friends are like the stars in the sky,

always there even when you can’t see them.

They shine brightly in dark times,

guiding me as the North Star does for travelers.

In daylight, they blend in,

a natural part of my every day.

Figurative Language Analysis:

Personification:

- "Friends are like the stars in the sky"

In the first sentence, it means that friends are represented as stars, not real stars. The author wants to show that friends are like stars in the sky.

Hyperbole

- "They shine brightly in dark times"

It interprets that the friend shines in the dark. The one where it's overly exaggerated. But what the author means is that a friend is like a companion when we are alone.

Moral Value:

In this poem, the writer wants to say that friends are a valuable part of our life. So that he represents friends with the stars in the sky that illuminate our lives and are there for us.

Being Creative Person and a Creative Teacher

Name: Muhammad Rafel Herviansyah
Class: Literature In ELT B

In this essay, I will review being a creative person and a creative teacher. We all know
that to be creative teachers we must also be creative people. Besides, not everyone is creative
because of talent but they also have to think about how to be creative. In this book, there are
many ways that allow a person to become a creative person. So there are the words of Rudolf
Steiner, “You will not be a good teacher if you only focus on what you do and not on who you
are.” That means, if you feel a little weird, just remember that you're doing it alone, so no one
will notice you. So the first thing we can do is make room for ourselves. We take the time to do
something, what is meant is that we have to be able to explore something. The second is what
we can try by exploring. Trying to learn new things. Many things make us more creative, but
trying new things will add to our ideas. Examples that are widely used are drawing or painting,
writing, learning musical instruments, and others. The third is to calm the mind by simply sitting
and meditating. As we know stress can reduce our level of creativity, because our minds are not
calm when we think about something. Another thing we can do is take a walk, fish or read a
book quietly.

The Use of Poetry and Music in Learning or Teaching English

Name: Muhammad Rafel Herviansyah

Class: Literature in ELT B

After I read some journals, I have arguments and some experiences regarding the use

of poetry and music in learning or teaching English. But before that, there was something

that made me wonder, is it effective to use poetry or songs in learning English? As we know

how important English is, which is an international language and is taught in almost all

countries. By making it a subject in elementary schools and junior and senior high schools,

this makes the important components that we get such as vocabulary, grammar and others.

In this study, there is an English learning strategy using songs or poetry. These songs and

poems themselves have become part of our lives, we can get additional literacy knowledge

which is very useful in our lives. So of course it is very effective for learning at school and

outside in learning English. I had an experience when I was in middle school when I was

given the assignment to come forward in a group to sing some songs in English. When we

sing a song together, the teacher will ask about the structure and some meanings of words

that are foreign to us at that time. So we don't just sing but we also analyze the intent or

meaning of the song. Another point we get is that we can know the pronunciation of the word.

So, of course, this is very useful because apart from interesting and fun strategies, we can

also get useful things, such as when reading material books that we usually read.

Intensive Reading

 Intensive Reading

Intensive Reading is a reading activity that is carried out carefully and thoroughly on the text that is read. Intensive reading is applied in an effort to find information in detail or applied to information seeking as discussion material. Intensive reading has a meaning that expresses a word. Another meaning of intensive reading is an activity carried out by someone in reading carefully in order to understand the reading of the text quickly and precisely. The definition of intensive reading ability is the ability to understand in detail the contents of the reading completely, accurately and critically on a fact, concept, opinion, idea, experience, feeling and message.

In a text there must be a word that has an expression, for example is chat or conversation, when we are angry we say a word with a capital letter or capslock and also use an exclamation point at the end of the word.

Another case if we do not use punctuation marks it will look like a normal sentence. There are many examples around us. Another example is Advertising Line or Clickbait. In the sentence contained in the ad line, it must have several meanings, such as persuading someone with a unique and interesting vocabulary. And that is very often we encounter along the way or even on our mobile social media.

 Inclusive Education

What is the inclusive education? Let's see what it means first. In a large Indonesian Dictionary means including or counting, being part of something. The word inclusive is an uptake word from the English inclusive which means "included". The term inclusive develops into a person's view of others based on the other person's perspective. So we can interpret that Inclusive Education is an education system that provides opportunities to all learners who have disorders and have the potential for intelligence and or special talents to follow education or learning in one educational environment together with learners in general. If we pay attention from there, inclusive education for students with special needs is very important because children with special needs also have potential and intelligence that should be developed, especially in Indonesia. Unfortunately, until now not many schools have implemented an inclusion system and are willing to accept students with disabilities. Because of course there are so many children out there who have extraordinary talent but they still do not get the attention of the government and educational institutions. My plan to solve this is to provide opportunities to get inclusive education that is beneficial for the intellectual development of students with disabilities can take place optimally when receiving subject matter according to their age and mindset capacity. Students with disabilities also have the opportunity to learn how to take care of themselves if they are used to daily life with normal students. And of course to make students with disabilities increase their socialization to respond about discriminatory and bullying behavior.

INSPIRING TEACHER

So, This time I discussed one of the teachers who inspired me in education. Korosensei was one of the teachers who inspired me in the field of education. Although it is only a fictional story from an anime film, it has many lessons that we can take from the positive side. Korosensei is a teacher who teaches students of class E which is a class that has problematic students and is most bad class in the school. Besides his octopus-like character and his funny and pervert, Korosensei is an excellent and expert teacher. He even read his students's situation and tried to understand it in one on one. What I love most about the story is how he taught his students the one-approach method , the way he taught very efficiently and the way he brought the whole class together to work with each other was what I liked the most. Korosensei also not only supports academic learning, he also supports his students through a game, as in the story when the baseball team of class E is challenged by the best club in his school. During the exhibition match between Class E and the school's baseball club, Korosensei coached the class in countering the star player's pitches and helped them win despite Asano's interventions. While the students are grateful that their teacher is doing all of this for their benefit, they still get annoyed by his various antics, such as eavesdropping for juicy gossip and getting too cocky, which normally gets Korosensei into trouble.

 Shopping Centre Shinsaibashi-Suji Osaka

Hello everyone my name is Muhammad Rafel Herviansyah, I’m from F Class English Literacy. Hello shopaholic people! This time I will explain why I chose a shopping place in Shinsaibashi-Suji Osaka, Japan. Shinsaibashi is a shopping mall in downtown Osaka, a street that becomes a market for shopping for daily necessities. Its location feels between Umeda in the north and Namba in the south, making it easy to reach and access from anywhere. Reasons why I chose Shinsaibashi because I love bargain hunting, although some items that’s a bit pricey up to the leve like “it cost a fortune!”. When I go there, the first thing I want to visit is an electronics store. Go shopping electronics things in Shinsaibashi, you don’t need to splash out, because electronics things like handphone, headphone, and the others in Japan is cheaper than Indonesia depending on the brand. Base on the article people that Do the shopping at Shinsaibashi, when we bring passport and show it to the seller then we get tax free, wow! That’s a bargain! Of course there’s many street food that sells unique food from Japan and we can do grocery shopping without think how expensive it is. When shopping for clothes there, maybe just buy a few because I'm not interested to spend money for that. There’s no fitting room so choose the right one with you. That’s it and remember don’t waste money too much for that.
